Ella Francis keeps raising the bar to higher heights.

The sophomore on the Prior Lake girls track team set a new school record in the pole vault at the Irish Invitational in Rosemount April 15, winning with a height of 10-10. She held the previous record of 10-6 with teammate Marianna Kramer and 2008 graduate Heather Hagelberger.

Last year, Francis qualified for state in the pole vault and finished 10th (10-6).

Prior Lake didn't have all of its top athletes at the Irish invite, finishing third in the team standings with 65 points. Eagan won (106), followed by Rosemount (75), while Eastview was fourth (24).

Francis also won the triple jump with a leap of 34-4 1/2 and was also second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.82.

Other winners for the Lakers: sophomore Sarah Ring in the high jump (5-0) and junior Sarah Schrader in the long jump (16-9).

Eighth-grader Alisa Robbins was runner-up in the 100 (13.66) and the high jump (4-8). Schrader was second in the triple jump (33-2 1/2), while 4x800 relay team of sophomores Olivia Theilen, Olivia Schroeder, Abi Ruelle and Becca Brinkley was also second (10:30.52).

Other top-four individual finishes: junior Andrea Citrowske in the pole vault (4th, 8-0), Schroeder in the 400 (3rd, 1:03.27), eighth-grader Kristyn Arends in the 200 (4th, 28.03) and sophomore Nicole Hoepner in the 100 (3rd, 13.79).
