The Prior Lake boys lacrosse team was in high gear offensively April 19

The No. 10-ranked Lakers had eight different players score goals, including getting from five senior Sean Carlson, in a 18-4 win at Minneapolis Washburn in a non-conference game.

The 18 goals were also the most scored in a game for Prior Lake since 2010.

"We had really good distribution of scoring," said Lakers coach Chris Fleck. "We also had strong defensive play. Minneapolis didn't score in the second half."

The Lakers went into the game off a big 7-6 win at No. 6 Blake April 15 in the season opener. Prior Lake opens the South Suburban Conference season April 22 at home versus Lakeville North at 7:30 p.m.

Senior Jordan Lee and sophomore Jack Dessler each chipped in three goals in the win over Minneapolis, while junior Cullen Sowder and senior Isaac Eiter each scored twice and senior Brandon Schipper, junior Taylor Kropp and ninth-grader Brant Cartwright had one goal.

Sophomore Matt Denman led the Lakers with four assists. Carlson, Sowder, Lee and Kropp each had one. Junior Nick Hoodecheck started in goal and had six saves.

The Lakers' second conference game is April 25 at home versus Lakeville South at 7 p.m. and follow playing at Apple Valley April 29 at 7:30 p.m.

The SSC had five ranked teams, including No. 2 Eastview, No. 3 Rosemount, No. 4 Bloomington Jefferson and No. 5 Eagan, along with the Lakers. All five of those teams are also in Section 3.
