The Prior Lake girls soccer team was knocked from the unbeaten ranks Sept. 11.

Fourth-ranked Eagan scored with 42 seconds left to play to escape with a 1-0 road win over the No. 1 Lakers in South Suburban Conference play. Prior Lake dropped to 8-1 overall (3-1 in league play).

The Lakers have allowed just two goals this season and both have come in the final 45 seconds of play. The first one was when Prior Lake was up 3-0 late at Lakeville South when the Cougars scored with less than 30 seconds to go.

Meanwhile, with No. 3 Eden Prairie losing 2-1 at No. 7 Wayzata Sept. 11, No. 2 Eastview and Eagan could be the top-two ranked teams in the new Class 2A poll, which comes out Sept. 16.

Prior Lake will get a shot at Wayzata Sept. 13 in non-league play at 2 p.m. The Lakers return to SSC action Sept. 16 versus Apple Valley at 7:30 p.m., before playing at Lakeville North Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m.

The Lakers are at Shakopee Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m., before playing at Eden Prairie Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. That game could decide the No. 1 seed in Section 2AA.

Eden Prairie beat the Lakers 1-0 in the section title game last fall.
