Another winning wave for the Lakers

The Prior Lake boys swimming team continued on its winning wave Jan. 9 in South Suburban Conference dual action.

The No. 8-ranked Lakers won all three relays en route to a 96-83 home win over Eastview to improve to 4-0 in the conference.

Next up for the Lakers, a dual with No. 4 Eagan Jan 13 on the road at 6 p.m. It will likely decide the SSC champion.

Prior Lake follows competing in the Section 3AA True Team Meet Jan. 17 at Kenwood Middle School in Lakeville at 1 p.m. The eight section winners and four wildcard picks will compete in the state true team Jan. 24 at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Prior Lake is the defending Section 3AA champion, finishing seventh at the state true team last year in its first-ever appearance.

Meanwhile, in the win over Eastview, the Lakers winning relays were the 200 medley relay team of juniors Craig Robrock, Alex Leff, Marshall Heskin and Jens Lund (1:42.30), the 200 freestyle team of Leff, Robrock, sophomore Colin Dwyer and junior Jack Dessler (1:30.96) and the 400 freestyle team of Leff, Dwyer, Heskin and Dessler (3:28.84).

Robrock won both the 100 breaststroke (1:02.79) and the 200 individual medley (2:04.07), while Heskin won the 100 freestyle (48.61), Leff claimed the 50 freestyle (21.64) and senior Zak Jung was tops in the 100 butterfly (57.76).

Individual runner-up finishes went to: Dwyer in the 200 freestyle (1:53.15), junior Caleb Torvik in the 200 individual medley (2:14.45) and the 100 butterfly (59.06), ninth-grader Henry Skinner in the 50 freestyle (23.76), junior Austin Beck in the 500 freestyle (5:24.64), eighth-grader Sean Dwyer in the 100 backstroke (1:02.17) and ninth-grader Tyler Wiederhoeft in diving (1:32.10).
