The Prior Lake gymnastics team earned its season-best score Jan. 27.

The Lakers finished with 131.975 points, but still fell short of their first South Suburban Conference win. Host Farmington won the meet with a 134.075.

"It was the best meet of the season, said Lakers coach Donna Weber. "The gymnasts really performed well and the exciting thing is we still have room for improvement. Peaking at section time is ideal."

The Lakers (0-7 in the SSC) finished first, second and fourth in the all-around against Farmington. Sophomore Kailey Dobransky was back from her knee injury competing in all four events, finishing with a winning score of 35.975.

She had scores of 9.25 on the uneven bars, 9.225 on the floor exercise, 8.7 on the balance beam and 8.8 on the vault.

Sophomore Rachel Grosklags was second in the all-around (34.875) with scores of 9.1 on the vault, 8.65 on the bars, 8.75 on the beam and 8.375 on the floor.

Junor Tarra Willox was fourth (32.175), including scores of 8.525 on the vault, 7.2 on the bars, 8.0 on the beam and 8.45 on the floor.

Prior Lake is back in action Jan. 30 at Bloomington Jefferson for a non-conference meet at 6 p.m. The Lakers' final SSC meet is Feb. 5 at No. 4-ranked Eagan at 6 p.m.

The Section 2AA competition is Feb. 13 at Chanhassen. Seventh-ranked Lakeville North is the defending champion.
