The Lakers have 29 hits and 25 runs scored in winning their first two games - 9-1 at Eden Prairie April 11 and 16-7 at Burnsville April 8 in South Suburban Conference play.

The Lakers smacked four homeruns in beating the Blaze, scoring runs six of the seven innings. Seniors Shaye Barton and Deanna Wibbens and juniors Angela McBeain and Justus Perry each went yard.

Ninth-grader Jocelyn Kirk finished 3 for 4 with two runs scored, while senior Ashlee Leech was 2 for 5 with two doubles and three runs scored.

Barton finished 2 for 4, while Wibbens was 2 for 3. McBeain's homer was a three-run shot, while Wibbens and Perry both had two-run blasts and Barton's was a solo homer.

Junior Caitlin Stone earned the win with three innings of work, allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits. McBeain pitched four innings, giving up three earned runs on seven hits.

McBeain started against Eden Prairie and got the win with three innings of work. She allowed one run on three hits. Stone finished up with four scoreless innings, giving up just one hit.

The Lakers led 4-1 after three innings and took a 9-1 lead with a four-run sixth inning.

McBeain and Stone each finished 2 for 2 with two RBIs. McBeain also doubled. Leech was also two for two with an RBI double, while Perry finished 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

Senior Izzy Gates was 1 for 1 with an RBI and two runs scored. Junior Caroline Bjorge was 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI, while senior Taylor Roddie had a double and a run scored. Kirk also had an RBI for the Lakers.

Prior Lake is back on the field April 13 at Eagan, before returning home April 15 to face Eastview. Both SSC games start at 4:15 p.m.

The Lakers are home to Minnetonka in a non-league game April 16 at 4:15 p.m.
