It's time for the routines to begin for the Prior Lake synchronized swimming team.

The Lakers ended the figures portion of the season at home April 14 against St. Louis Park, falling to the Orioles 28-1. Prior Lake was also at Bloomington Jefferson April 9 for a figures meet, losing 19-10.

The routines season starts April 16 at home versus Osseo at 5 p.m.

"We are very excited to start the routines part of the season," said Lakers coach Katy Bohnsack. "(Against St. Louis Park, senior) Jessica Shorba, (ninth-grader) Claire Benson and (junior) Haley Wagner made significant improvement on their figures and we were all happy with their scores.

"Though the team is young, there is great role modeling by these girls so they will all improve more," said Bohnsack.

Shorba was seventh overall against St. Louis Park with a score of 59.491. Benson was ninth (58.394), followed by Wagner in 14th (57.311).

Other finishes: ninth-grader Moira Ling (26th, 53.328), junior Willow Rivera (28th, 53.065), ninth-grader Grace Cline (30th, 52.337), seventh-grader Jennifer Lien (32nd, 51.736), sophomore Sydney Rickert (35th, 50.096) and junior Taisia Fluharty (39th, 46.065).

Against Jefferson, Shorba was second overall with a score of 59.644, followed by Benson in fourth (57.657).
