The Prior Lake baseball team went quietly in Section 2AAAA play.

The third-seeded Lakers scored just two runs in two games, falling 3-2 to second-seeded Chaska June 2 in the losers bracket at Athletic Park.

Prior Lake was blanked 3-0 at home in the quarterfinals May 30 by sixth-seeded Shakopee. The Lakers ended the season with a 12-10 overall mark.

Prior Lake fell behind Chaska 2-0 after the first inning and scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the game at 2-2. The run in the fourth snapped the Lakers' string of 12 straight scoreless innings, which started in the final regular season game.

Senior Michael Radamacher tied the game with a solo homer in the fifth inning. In the fourth, junior Mitch Goodwin tripled with two outs to score junior Corbin Cross, who singled with one out.

But Chaska took the lead with a solo homer of its own in the bottom of the fifth. Jacob Goraczkowski took junior Cameron Bunkers deep with one out. Bunkers took the loss for the Lakers, working five innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits, while fanning two.

Senior Sam Schlachter pitched a scoreless sixth inning for Prior Lake with two strikeouts.

Prior Lake had six hits off Chaska starter Ryan Rodriquez, who tossed a complete game. Junior Derek Kay finished 2 for 2, while junior Ryan McDonald also had a hit.

Prior Lake went into the playoffs, winning three of its last four games to jump up all the way to No. 3 seed in the eight-team field. The team has a 5-8 postseason record under fourth-year coach Greg Nesbitt.
