It's that time of year for the Prior Lake volleyball team where new school marks are usually set and section titles are won.

The No. 7-ranked Lakers are the No. 1 seed in Section 2AAA and will be seeking their third straight crown. Meanwhile, senior Kayla Bair is three blocks way from becoming the program's all-time leader in that category.

Bair has a team-best 68 blocks on the season, giving her 267 for her career, which is two behind all-time leader Tamara Braun, who finished her Laker career in 2001 with 269 rejections at the net.

Prior Lake (18-10 overall) will open the playoffs at home versus the winner of eighth-seeded Hutchinson (16-12) and ninth-seeded Chanhassen (12-14), which will be played Oct. 25, in the quarterfinals Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Second-seeded Eden Prairie (21-6), ranked No. 10 in the state, gets the winner of seventh-seeded Chaska (12-14) and 10th-seeded Mankato West (11-12) and third-seeded Shakopee (18-9), ranked No. 9, will face the winner of sixth-seeded New Prague (19-9) and 11th-seeded Mankato East (4-22).

Fourth-seeded Minnetonka (18-9) will face fifth-seeded Waconia (17-11) in the quarterfinals.

The semifinals are Oct. 31. The higher seed is at home in the first three rounds. The title match is Nov. 4 at a site to be determined. For complete brackets, go to www.mshsl.org.

Bair leads the Lakers in kills this season as well with 268, giving her 549 for her career. The all-time Prior Lake leader is 2015 graduate Ella Francis (975 kills). She also leads the team with 50 ace serves.

Senior CC McGraw is tied with junior Katie Brostrom for second in aces with 27. McGraw is already the Lakers' all-time ace serve leader with 179. Lara Schultz holds the single-season mark with 74 in 2014.

In digs, heading into the season, it looked like McGraw would catch Brittany Luethmers as the all-time digs leader in Minnesota State High School League history. Luethmers finished her Laker career in 2014 with 2,106 digs.

McGraw went into this season with 1,518 career digs, needing 599 to break Luethmers' mark. However, an ankle injury kept McGraw out of action the first couple of weeks and she played some at setter after coming back.

McGraw is back as the Lakers' full-time libero and leads the team with 248 digs heading into the playoffs. McGraw would need to average 56.6 digs in six matches, the max amount the Lakers could play the rest of the season, to break Luethmers' mark.

McGraw is the Lakers' single-season leader in digs. She recorded 620 last year to break her own mark of 588 in 2015.

Meanwhile, Brostrom leads the Lakers in set assists heading into the playoffs with 324, while McGraw is second with 245 and senior Megan Palmer has 205.

Senior Emma Brostom is second in kills behind Bair with 191, followed by senior Haley Stolt with 185 and senior Maddy Bremer with 169. Senior Hannah Reis is fourth in ace serves with 26 and second in digs with 203.

Bremer is second in blocks with 33, followed by Emma Brostrom (26) and senior Sydney Trees (25).
