Finishing with a Flurry

The Prior Lake boys hockey team finished with a flurry.

The Lakers scored two goals in final 45 seconds to pull out a 4-3 South Suburban Conference home win over Farmington Jan. 9. Junior Nathan Green scored the game-winner with 18 seconds to play.

Senior Preston Underhill tied the game at the 16:15 mark with junior Charlie Kashmark and senior Jack Kennedy getting the assists. Junior Ty Trachsel and senior Hunter Totenhagen had assists on the game-winner.

Prior Lake (6-8 overall, 3-5 in the SSC) is 6-3 in its last nine games after an 0-5 start. The team is back on the ice Jan. 16 at Eastview and will play at Lakeville North Jan. 20 in SSC games at 7 and 3 p.m., respectively.

Against Farmington, Prior Lake scored first with senior Bennet Holst tallying midway through the first period. But the Tigers scored the game's next three goals and they were all scored by junior Mason Enright.

Farmington took a 3-2 lead with a goal 17 seconds after the Lakers tied the game at 2-2 on junior Jackson Jutting's goal 3:26 into the third period.

Senior Ryan Miller made 16 saves in goal for the Lakers. Kashmark finished with three assists, while Jutting had one.
