The Prior Lake girls basketball team avoided a four-game slide with an overtime road win.

The Lakers struggled against Eagan, eventually pulling out a 66-65 South Suburban Conference victory Jan. 9. Sophomore Haidyn Pitsch scored a career-high 20 points to lead Prior Lake.

Prior Lake (5-7 overall, 2-3 in the SSC) is back on the league court Jan. 12 at Burnsville at 7 p.m. Junior McKenna Hofschild needs 13 points to become the Lakers' all-time leading scorer.  Riley Wheatcraft, a 2017 graduate, set the mark last season, finishing her career with 1,452 points.

Hofschild was held to a season-low 13 points in the win over Eagan, but she did score the game-winning points, making a layup in the final seconds to give her team the victory. She goes into the Burnsville game, averaging 27.0 points per game.

Eagan has struggled the last couple of years, starting this season 1-11 and getting just three total wins last winter.

Prior lake led 32-30 at the break and the second half was back and fourth for the most part, including ending 59-59 after regulation. Ninth-graders Emily Kulstad and Kate Trachsel each scored 12 points for the Lakers, while junior Alexandra Wiskow chipped in five.

Prior Lake follows the Burnsville game taking on Robbinsdale Armstrong Jan. 15 at St. Catherine's University in St. Paul in the Minnesota Fury Martin Luther King Classic at 4 p.m.

The Lakers are home versus No. 4 Lakeville North and at Apple Valley Jan. 19 in SSC games at 7 p.m.
