Our Band Program is growing, and we want you to be a part of it!  Joining Band is simple!  Being in Band is fun!  Playing an instrument in Band is a great way to meet people, make new friends, and complete your middle school music credit!  All 6th graders must complete a music course in 6th grade, and in this class you will learn to do so in an engaging, hands-on way!

In the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools, we start Band in 6th grade. This is the best opportunity you have to join band. Every grade level makes a difference in developing the necessary skills to play an instrument, so it is important that we start early! 

In Band, you will have the opportunity to go to many fun and interesting places throughout the world.  The Prior Lake High School Band has taken tours all over the world, and our 7-8 Honor Band takes a Chicago tour every other year! The 7-8 Jazz Bands and Honor Band also go to festivals and other field trips throughout the year.

Most of all, playing in Band is fun! You will enjoy having a new skill and be proud to play your first concert! The rewards of making music are unlimited and life-long!

No previous experience or ability to read music is needed. In our Band rooms, we teach responsibility and teamwork in a safe, supportive environment. Students and parents will be proud of the results they hear in our Band program, making memories that last a lifetime!
