Both Laker Teams Take Luck Out Of Irish On The Road

The No. 2-ranked Prior Lake girls lacrosse team continues to dominate the competition, scoring 42 goals in its last two wins.

The No. 5 Laker boys continue to get tested, including a 10-5 win at No. 10 Rosemount May 7 in South Suburban Conference play.

The Prior Lake girls took on the Irish a day earlier and cruised to a 19-3 road victory. It was the teams 32nd straight league win, a streak that dates back to the start of the 2016 season.

The girls (8-0 overall, 5-0 in the SSC) and the boys (5-3 and 4-1) are both home to Apple Valley in league play May 9 at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the boys' win over Rosemount, senior Ben Jung and junior Will Gilbert both scored two goals for the Lakers, while junior Conor Miller and seniors Trenton Herubin, Patrick Juell, Luke Bloedow, Nathan Whittier and Riley Bachinski each had a goal.

Bloedow finished with two assists, while Whittier and sophomore Jack Smith both had one. Junior Colin Nauertz made six saves in goal.

For the Laker girls, sophomore Payton Bloedow had three goals and three assists, while sophomore Mackenzie Salentre, ninth-grader Josie Wilhelm and junior Josie Kropp each scored three goals and had an assist.

Senior Jacqueline Little finished with two goals and two assists, while senior Ashtyn King had two goals and an assist and senior Kelsey Viger also scored twice. Sophomoer Jade Haugen picked up one goal.

Senior Grace Mattox made five saves in goal.
