Ace in the Northland

In her first season on the Prior Lake girls golf team, Nadia Turner has produced an ace.

The eighth-grader recorded a hole in one on the 10th hole at Ridgeview Country Club May 15 in the nine-team Ridgeview Invitational. Turner used a 7-iron on the 142-yard, par-3.

It was certainly the biggest highlight of the Lakers' two-day trip to Duluth

Prior Lake competed in back-to-back tourneys, finishing seventh at Ridgeview with a team score of 384. The next day, the Lakers were sixth in the Duluth East Invitational at Northland Country Club with a score of 397.

The Lakers wrapped up the regular season May 18 in the cold, playing in the South Suburban Conference Championships at Heritage Links Golf Course. Prior Lake finished sixth with a score of 401.

Lakeville North won the title (369) and the overall conference crown, while the Lakers were eighth overall.

At Heritage Links, Rosemount was second (376), followed by Lakeville South (380), Apple Valley (397) and Shakopee (398). Eastview was seventh (403), followed by Burnsville (417), Eagan (420) and Farmington (433).

Senior Laney Chmielewski led the Lakers with a 96, followed by eighth-grader Isabel Benson with 98. Turner shot 101, followed by junior Erica Braun with 106. Junior Kate Bickett had 113, while senior Bailey Klingfus shot 116.

At Ridgeview, Turner finished with a 96, while Chmielewski led the Lakers with an 87. Braun shot 99, followed by Klingfus (102), junior Kaia Wold (107) and Bickett (119).

Edina won the title with 318, followed by Woodbury (340), Elk River (347), Stillwater (368) and Duluth East and East Ridge (377).

At Northland, Edina won again with 321, followed by Woodbury (378).

Chmielewski led the Lakers at Northland with a 94, while Turner shot 98. Klingfus finished with 102, followed by Braun (103), Wold (110) and senior Anna Schmitz (115).

Next up for the Lakers is the 36-hole Section 2AAA tournament, which is held at The Ridges of Sand Creek Golf Course in Jordan. The first round is May 27 and the final round is June 2.

The Class 3A state tournament is June 9-10 at its annual site, Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids.
