The Prior Lake girls basketball team had its three-game win streak end by the state's No. 1-ranked squad.

Eastview ran past the Lakers 64-35 at home in South Suburban Conference play. Prior Lake went into the game off a 64-49 league win at Lakeville South Feb. 2 behind 25 points from junior McKenna Hofschild.

The Lakers were without Hofschild and her 27.6 points per game against Eastvew. The flu bug caught up with the Lakers, according to the team's twitter feed, @plhsbballgirls, so the team was a little shorthanded against the Lightning.

Prior Lake (11-10 overall, 7-6 in the SSC) is back in action Feb. 9 at home versus Burnsvile and is home to Eagan Feb. 13 in SSC games at 7 p.m.

The Lakers' final three regular season games are also league ones — at No. 4 Lakeville North (Feb. 16), versus Apple Valley (Feb. 20) and at Rosemount (Feb. 23).

Prior Lake should be able to lock up a top four playoff seed in Section 2AAAA with a strong finish. The top three seeds could easily be Lake Conference teams — Eden Prairie (12-8), Minnetonka (11-8) and Edina (11-9).

Others in the field: Chanhassen (10-9), Shakopee (9-12), Chaska (6-14) and Bloomington Jefferson (10-10).

In beating Lakeville South, ninth-grader Tatum Brostrom finished with nine points for the Lakers, while sophomore Ella Schnackenberg had eight, junior Reagan Dahl scored seven and sophomore Haidyn Pitsch chipped in eight.

Against Eastview, Schnackenberg scored nine points lead Prior Lake, while ninth-grader Kate Trachsel had seven and junior Alexandra Wiskow scored five.
