The Prior Lake dance team dropped a spot in the second South Suburban Conference jazz meet Nov. 27.

The host Lakers finished third with nine ranking points, while Eastview won for a second straight week (3), followed by Lakeville North (six).

Lakeville South ended up fourth (12), followed by Burnsville (16), Farmington (16.5), Rosemount (23), Eagan (24.5), Apple Valley (26.5) and Shakopee (29).

The SSC high kick season starts Dec. 4 and will be held at Shakopee. The second kick competition is Dec. 11 at Rosemount. Both start at 7 p.m.

The SSC Championships, which feature both jazz and high kick, are Dec. 15 at Lakeville South starting at 11 a.m.

Prior Lake has emerged as one the state's top programs in jazz over the years. The program has made state six straight seasons, finishing sixth last year and a fifth in 2017.

In high kick, the Lakers are an emerging program. Last winter, the team made state for the first time, making the finals (top six) and ending up sixth.
