The Prior Lake boys hockey team is struggling to put the puck in the net.

The Lakers scored just three goals in a three-game stretch, while going 0-2-1 in that, including a 3-1 home loss to Eagan Jan. 22 in South Suburban Conference play.

Prior Lake (7-8-1 overall, 6-5-1 in the SSC) is back on the ice Friday at home versus No. 5-ranked Duluth East at 7:30 p.m.. The Lakers are home to Rosemount the next day in league play at 3 p.m.

Prior Lake is at Shakopee Jan. 29 in SSC action and will take on No. 1 Minnetonka Jan. 31 in a battle of Section 2AA foes. Both games start at 7 p.m.

The Lakers are home to Burnsville Feb. 5 for a conference game and will take on Holy Family (10-7), another section squad, at home Feb. 7.

The game with Holy Family could decided whether the Lakers get a home playoff game in Section 2AA. The top-three seeds look pretty locked in with Minnetonka (17-0-1), No. 8 Eden Prairie (10-5-2) and No. 10 Chaska (10-7).

Other teams in the field: New Prague (6-12-1), Shakopee (6-10-1) and Chanhassen (5-8-3).

In the loss to Eagan, Prior Lake scored first. Senior Jackson Jutting tallied 2:28 into the game with senior Charlie Kashmark and sophomore Aidan Emerson getting the assists.

But Eagan took control of the game with three goals in the second period in span of 8:27. The Wildcats swept the season series, winning 5-1 over the Lakers back on Nov. 27.

Senior Cade Kujawski started in goal for Prior Lake and finished with 17 saves.

Jutting's goal was his ninth of the year. He went into the Duluth East game leading the Lakers in points with 25 and in assists (16). Kashmark was leading in goals scored with 10, adding six assists.

Junior Nick Speltz had five goals and six assists for the Lakers through 16 games.
