What is Mock Trial?

  • A team activity organized by the Minnesota State Bar Association where students from different schools across Minnesota compete against each other as attorneys and witnesses in an imaginary case.

  • You learn public speaking skills, professionalism, communication, and how to work on a team... and more!

  • An opportunity to dress up and perform in front of actual judges.

  • Mock Trial is NOT a debate club!

  • Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:10-5:00pm in the D200-209 pod. Attendance is required!!

Mock Trial Team Information

Mock Trial is a program sponsored by the Minnesota State Bar Association. The students take on roles of lawyers, witnesses, bailiff, and timekeeper. The season starts in October and continues through February or March.

Students develop analytical skills, speaking skills and develop an understanding of courtroom decorum and procedures. All grade 9-12 are welcome.

Students who participate can earn a letter if they meet all requirements during the season. There is an activity fee to participate and all team members must register on Affinety for Mock Trial.
