Lakers Cruise to Second Victory

The Prior Lake boys hockey team busted out offensively Dec. 9.

Senior Lincoln Eiter had two goals and an assist as the Lakers rolled to a 7-1 win at Chanhassen Dec. 9 to win their second consecutive game against a Section 2AA foe.

Prior Lake improved to 2-1-1 overall and will return to South Suburban Conference action Dec. 11 at Eagan at 7 p.m.

The Lakers have 12 goals in their last two games, including a 5-2 home win over Bloomington Jefferson Dec. 6. 

Prior Lake outshot Chanhassen 39-16. Junior Drew Scites was in goal for the Lakers and finished with 15 saves.

Prior Lake broke open a 2-0 lead with three goals in the second period. Senior Hayden Maxfield scored 3:12 into the frame. Sophomore Kevin Fellows and senior Tyler Bump scored 1:18 apart in the final 2:05 of the period.

Sophomore Chase Gackle and Eiter had third-period goals. Junior Curtis Hansen and Eiter tallied in the first period.

Junior Matt Denman finished with three assists, while junior Connor Clemons had two. Junior Jack Schulze, sophomore Jack Harris and senior Derek Daugaard each had one.

Through four games, Clemons leads the Lakers with nine points (5 goals, 4 assists), while Fellows has six (2 goals, 4 assists) and Denman has five (1 goal, 4 assists).

Eiter and Hansen each have two goals and two assists.

Prior Lake will play at No. 9-ranked Burnsville Dec. 13 in a big SSC game at 7 p.m. The Blaze is also a section foe. The Lakers return home Dec. 18 for an SSC game with Eastview at 7 p.m.

Prior Lake is at Shakopee Dec. 20 in league action at noon.
