Junior Sparks Lakers With Game-Winning Double

Henry Emmerich sparked the Prior Lake baseball team to a 3-0 start.

The junior drove in the game-winning run April 16 with an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning with one out in the Lakers' 3-2 South Suburban Conference home victory over Eagan.

Sophomore Connor Wietgrefe got the win in relief, getting the last two outs in the top of the seventh inning, including a strikeout. Senior AJ Lattery started for Prior Lake and went six and one-third strong innings, allowing two runs (one earned) while fanning seven.

Senior Tyler Kelley tripled and drove in a run for the Lakers. Junior Jett Heinen also tripled and scored a run. Junior Austin Gordon was one for three with a stolen base and a run scored.

Rain pushed Prior Lake's SSC game with Burnsville April 17 back two days to April 19 at 4:30 p.m. The Lakers are home to Farmington in league play April 18 at 4:30 p.m., and are playing at Eden Prairie April 20 in a battle of Section 2AAAA foes at 1 p.m.

Prior Lake has SSC games at Lakeville South April 22 and at Lakeville North April 24 at 4:30 p.m. The team is home to section-foe Edina April 23 at 4:15 p.m.
