Jump Start To The Outdoor Season For The Lakers

Mariana Lehrer had a strong showing for the Prior Lake girls track team in the first outdoor competition of the season April 12.

The sophomore won the triple jump and was third in the long jump to lead the Lakers at the team's own invite, while sophomore Mallory Stach claimed the top spot in the 3,200.

Prior Lake ended up fourth in the team standings with 62 points. Rosemount won the crown (137), followed by Stillwater (88) and Roseville Area (84). White Bear Lake was fifth (19), followed by Burnsville (4).

Lehrer won the triple jump with a leap of 33-02 and had mark of 15-09 in the long jump. She was also eighth in the 100 hurdles (17.65) and ninth in the 300 hurdles (53.12). Stach finished the 3,200 with a winning time of 11:46.09.

Sophomore Taynian Walgrave was runner-up in both the 200 meters (26.42) and the 100 hurdles (15.02) for the Lakers, while senior Madison Bremer was runner-up in the triple jump (33-01). In the pole vault, junior Jessica Lilland and sophomore Grace Kashmark tied for fourth with height of 8-6.

Ninth-grader Emily Kulstad was fifth in the shot put (31-07), while eighth-grader Jillian Hively was fifth in both the 100 (13.45) and the 200 (27.77).

Prior Lake's best relay finish was by the 4x100 team that was second (52.30), while the 4x200 team was third (1:53.74).

Other top-10 individual finishes for the Lakers: ninth-grader Natalie Thoms in the 400 (8th, 1:06.37), ninth-grader Madeline Reckmeyer in the 1600 (10th, 6:00.53), ninth-grader Olivia Zastrow in the 800 (6th, 2:39.73), junior Melissa Pfeiffer in the 3,200 (9th, 13:20.54), ninth-grader Ashley George in the triple jump (10th, 30-07), sophomore Kalie Crandal in the shot put (8th, 29-07), sophomore McKenzie Weimerskirch in the shot put (9th, 29-03), sophomore Christina Will in the high jump (T7th, 4-8), sophomore Taylor Brosious in the high jump (T7th, 4-8) and senior Doris Klein-Mor in the pole vault (T6th, 7-6).

Prior Lake is back on the track April 21 at the Lakeville North Mega Meet at 8 a.m.
