The Prior Lake girls soccer team needed to work overtime in the rain to win its South Suburban Conference opener.

Junior Erica Moline scored the game's lone goal in lifting the Lakers to a 1-0 home win over Eastview Sept. 4. It was also Prior Lake's first win of the season after opening 0-2-1.

Junior Katarina Decaroli got the shutout in goal for the Lakers.

Prior Lake will be back in league action Sept. 6 at home versus Lakeville South at 7:30 p.m. The Lakers will take on a Section 2AA foe Eden Prairie at home on Sept. 8 at 5 p.m.

Last year, the Lakers finished sixth in the SSC with a 4-3-2 overall mark. It did have a big win 2-1 over Eagan in league action late in the season. The Wildcats have won three of the last four Class 2A state titles.

Prior Lake won its last three league games last year, including wins over Eastview (1-0) and Apple Valley (5-0). So the team has won four straight in conference play.

Prior Lake will get Eagan again Sept. 11 on the road at 5 p.m. The Wildcats are ranked No. 3 in the state.
