Prior Lake High School's speech team is sending 11 competitors to state competition on April 18 - the most in the school's history.

Among them are Sydney Wiedemann in the informative category, Rachel Kleist in original oratory, Austin Kraft and Savannah McBrayer in poetry, Christina Laridaen in discussion, Sarah Ferrier in extemporaneous reading, Cami Sharratt and Tom Dobberpuhl in prose, Noah Maldonado in creative expression, Jana Knudsen in humorous and Suriya Murthy in extemporaneous speaking.

The competition takes place at Lakeview North High School, 19600 Ipava Ave., Lakeville. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and awards will be distributed at 5:30 p.m.
